Thank goodness. That’s two down on my list: Omar Minaya said he has decided against remaining with the New York Mets after he was relieved as general manager on Monday, at the same time field manager Jerry Manuel was fired. The Mets planned a news conference for 1:30 p.m. ET at Citi Field, a day [...]

Getting Rid Of David Wright & Jose Reyes Would Be Really Stupid
Posted in NY Mets, tagged David Wright, Jose Reyes, Omar Minaya on August 30, 2010 | Leave a Comment »
It’s like getting suggestions from how to run the team from a Yankees fan. David Wright and Jose Reyes are NOT the Mets problem, it’s what Omar Minaya has built around them and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot trying to give Minaya a pass for his awful moves since ’06.
Fred & Jeff Wilpon Don’t Care About Mets Fans

No, the Mets owners don’t care about the fans, they only care about money, that’s the only reason to explain why an inept has-been like Luis Castillo and an even worse never-was like Olver Perez are still on the team. Last night we saw Castillo blow a sure double-play that probably cost the Mets a [...]
Hey Omar: Go Get Roy Oswalt!

To me this a no-brainer. The Mets are 7 games back in last place and one of the best pitchers in the National League has made it known that he wants to be traded. So go get him or at the very least try as hard as you can. That’s what good GM’s do, you [...]
Omar Minaya Should Not Get To Fire Another Manager
Posted in NY Mets, tagged Jerry Manuel, Omar Minaya on May 18, 2010 | Leave a Comment »
I’m not a fan of Jerry Manuel by any means, but the idea that he should be the fall guy for the Mets worsening season is ludicrous. Omar Minaya is the guy responsible for spending the Wilpon’s money, the guy who fired Willie Randolph in the middle of the night, the guy who gave Oliver [...]
Bengie Molina Will Not Be Playing For The Mets In 2010
Posted in NY Mets, tagged Bengie Molina, Omar Minaya on January 21, 2010 | Leave a Comment »
NYTimes.com: The Mets spent much of the off-season trying to persuade Bengie Molina to become their starting catcher, and they were relatively confident they could entice him to accept a one-year deal with a vesting option for a second season. In the end, that confidence got them nowhere. On Tuesday, Molina spurned the Mets’ final [...]
Yankees Get Curtis Granderson, Brian Cashman Proves Why Omar Minaya Sucks…Again

First, I’m well aware that the Mets already have a centerfielder. But the point here is how Brian Cashman, fresh off a world championship, can pull off a move like this while Omar Minaya does nothing. Listen, I give Omar major credit for literally stealing Johan Santana away from the Twins a couple of years [...]
Mets Should Not Trade John Maine For Corey Hart

Once again Omar Minaya is proving why he should be out as Mets GM. I don’t care what Peter Gammons says, we need John Maine and Corey Hart is an overrated OF who strikes out way too much (the Mets don’t need two SO artists like Hart and Jeff Francoeur is their starting line-up). John [...]
Mets Fans Need To Fire Omar Minaya And The Wilpons
Posted in NY Mets, tagged Jeff Wilpon, Omar Minaya on October 6, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
Unbelievable. The idea that despite consistently being given one of the highest payrolls in the major leagues, year after year, Omar Minaya, after 3 straight seasons of the Mets failing to make the playoffs, gets to come back next year is ludicrous. Yes, injuries hurt the Mets this year, but does anyone other than Mets [...]
Bobby Abreu, Another Omar Minaya Reject, Is Hitting .306 With 57 RBI’s

Just thought I’d start mentioning guys that Omar Minaya could’ve signed during the off-season that certainly could’ve helped the Mets inept offense today. Mind you, Abreu signed with the Angels for 1-year, $5 million. Again, if the Mets don’t make the playoffs this year, Omar Minaya needs to go.
